Last week Ad Society hosted a meeting called Meet Your Match. Members got to work together and learn about the advertising competition opportunities that are hosted throughout the year. Competing and winning awards from these competitions look great on your resume and are unique ways to build up your portfolio. Here’s a round-up of the competitions happening this year, for those of you who weren’t able to make it!

Future Lions

Brief:

  • Connect an audience of your choosing to a product or service from a global brand in a way that wasn’t possible three years ago.

Things To Note:

  • Partnership with AKQA
  • Up to 5 people on a team, but only 2 people get recognized
  • If you win you get to go to France

Deadline:

  • April 2019

D&AD New Blood Awards

Briefs:

  • 19 Briefs
  • Ex: Heinz, Adidas, and Burger King

Things To Note:

  • Up to 5 people can work on a team
  • 20 euros per entry
  • If you win you can go to the award show, apply for creative bootcamps and are eligible for scholarships

One Club – The Young Ones

Briefs:

  • 6 Briefs
  • Currently available: Avery Dennison and Brooks

Things To Note:

  • Judged during Creative Week in NYC at the Young Ones Education Festival in early May
  • Sign up for their newsletter for more details

Young Shits

Briefs:

  • Monthly Brief
  • Currently available: Convince high schoolers to make their bed

Things to Note:

  • Work showcased on site
  • Feedback from judges if you win
  • Only teams of two of individuals can apply

Deadline:

  • The 15th of every month

Briefs:

  • Judged regionally in Gainesville
  • Submit work from school, internships, or other competitions
  • Add as many people that worked on it
  • 53 categories (ex: brochures, posters, photography)

Entries:

  • $30 single-entry
  • $50 campaign
